For these 2 self-professed old souls they wanted their engagement session to feel like a date night that showcased their free-spirited vibe. It was an unseasonably warm fall evening in November for this Detroit fall engagement session.
We started shooting at the Z Lot in Detroit. It is a popular photo spot for a reason. A must hit and a go-to for me. The clear city scape, the open space to work, and accessibility to nearby sites. It’s located adjacent to The Belt which provides its own amazing artscape.
Blasting some classic 70’s music in the empty parking lot, Natasha & Jake got some dance practice in. Their chemistry and love for each other was palpable.
Loving these playful moments. There was no hesitation when it came to making their own fun. Peak this moment of Jake scooping Natasha up in a fireman’s hold.
Next, it was time to hit the Belt & get a drink at The Skip. The last bit of warmth before the winter allowed us to utilize their outdoor bar seating. Enjoying an old fashioned and seasonal slush is a fun way to make your engagement session a memorable experience beyond just the photos. I am always game to help you build the experience of your photos. If you have a unique idea, let’s do it!

Closing out the session, the couple enjoyed a last dance with the Belt as a classically romantic backdrop. The twinkle lights and finger piece signs will surely match the vibe for Natasha & Jake’s July 70’s wedding.
